NISE Net Exploring the Solar System: Design, Build, and Test Discovery Lab Program
To Hands On! and beyond! Celebrate the anniversary of the first person landing on the moon back in 1969.
Brainstorm your own mission to space, draw inspiration from existing spacecraft, and then assemble your own simple model spacecraft with preformed components. After assembling your spacecraft, complete a series of tests to ensure that it’s ready for “launch”. Did you include all necessary tools? Can the spacecraft withstand the vibration of launch, or the spin of navigating through space? If not, then it’s back to the drawing board—the design/build/test cycle begins again!
The Discovery Lab will be open by announcement periodically throughout each day. FREE with paid general admission.

Did you know that you have 14 pounds of air pressure pushing on every square inch of your body?
Join us in the Discovery Lab as we learn about the impressive properties of air and Air Pressure through fun interactive activities. Watch marshmallows grow in a vacuum sealer, send fruit and veggie pieces into the air with our potato launcher, launch a seltzer rocket, make a popping CO2 baggie, and even watch a grown-up get vacuum sealed!
The Discovery Lab will be open by announcement periodically throughout each day. FREE with general paid admission.
