Archaeology Day

The day will include a variety of activities and demonstrations at the museum for all ages. Local experts will demonstrate flintknapping and pottery making. Scientists, students, and volunteers will be on-hand to discuss Tennessee Archaeology and show artifacts throughout the day. Outdoor activities will include drone demonstrations and spear-throwing.

There will be an 11 a.m. showing of “Secrets of the Nolichucky”, a recent documentary film by Nolpix Media that follows the excavation of the Cane Notch site, a prehistoric Cherokee village along the Nolichucky River in East Tennessee.

Admission to Hands On! Discovery Center is $10 per person, age 4 and older.  Archaeology Day activities are free to the public.
